1. It’s not fancy!

Other than your editing skills to make your workstation and coffee photos look good on Instagram, it’s pretty much about putting your head down and working — for hours, every single day!

Most days aren’t about wins, but jumping hurdles and putting out fires.

2. It gets lonely!

It’s not easy to balance the #Hustle with the relationships in your life. Relationships need time, effort and attention. ‘Work-Life-Balance’ isn’t always about time management, but about committing to living in the moment when you can.

Remember sitting in a coffee shop with your better half at the end of the day, but still thinking about work?

3. Hoodies aren’t just cool, they’re convenient!

Mark Zuckerberg made hoodies ‘Cool’, but he probably also had an insane metabolism.

(The Social Network didn’t show him at a Gym or on a Bicycle)

Hustling for hours on a laptop will definitely show up on your waist sooner or later — Time for #Hoodies!

It’s also ‘cool’ to take a brisk walk in a hoodie, with a Podcast on!

4. Working late nights is underrated, but so is #Sleep!

I’ve known people who can only get work done through the night and it’s commendable to stay focused and productive during those hours. However, it doesn’t mean they work any harder than the ones waking up early to put in the same number of hours, while they’re asleep. It only means, they’re working a different shift!

‘Hustle’ and ‘Grind’ don’t have a one-size-fits-all formula. Perspective is key!

5. Happiness trumps all!

Whether it’s for the validation of peers, friends, applause from a general audience on social media, wealth or legacy, the thrill of the chase lies in the objective being ‘Happiness’.

One thing that everyone with a clearly defined ikigai has in common is that they pursue their passion no matter what. They never give up, even when the cards seem stacked against them or they face one hurdle after another.
